Maybe just a piece of standard aluminum extrusion like architectural angle (unequal)?
I think you'd only have to drill some holes, and your already set up to precisely chop MakerSlide...

Hey Bart,

Are you close to releasing a BOM? I have a CNC, some spare steppers, and can easily get the makerslide. All I need to know is which pieces to buy!

EDIT:

Also, are you still using Printrun to power the thing?

BOM ETA

Postby bdring » Sat Feb 11, 2012 2:05 am

I should have by the end of the weekend. If you need to get a jump on things, you can figure out a lot from the STEP file...look a few posts back.

I have detailed drawings on all the fab parts too. They have been going out for quotes. Once the BOM is in, you will have links to them.

Here it is printing an ORD Bot foot at 120mm/s

I used Jeremy's settings ramped up a little.

Wow.
If you're printing at 120mm/sec, then boost the travel speed. Maybe 140ish. Is the extruder reversal starting promptly and blob-free?

Here is even faster

The first few layer had some issues with the start of the extruder. It is cool to watch how fast the extruder is spinning.

Try this:
Perimiters:80
Small perimiters:50
Travel:160
Layer height:0.25

That's got to be the fastest moving bed printer I've ever seen.

Wow, looking great! FWIW, there's a truly excellent series of write-ups on Slic3r tuning at http://richrap.blogspot.com/

So I just had a chance to listen to your video. I hear a beeping noise a couple of times. Sounds like the extruder skipping steps. Maybe slow it sown a bit?

I'll look into that. I always assumed the extruder could only go so fast. The extruder uses a NEMA 17 and all the drivers were setup to power the lower current NEMA 14 motors. The E driver and motor are not even warm.
