professional motion control and timelapse slider

Postby titous » Thu Sep 06, 2012 8:00 pm

Im a professional photographer working on launching a kickstarter project centered around an affordable yet professional open-source slider that will be able to offer motion control as well as timelapse ability. I've already put a slider together but after seeing your linear motions rails, I realized I could potentially use them and decrease the cost significantly. You can read about the current slider here: http://www.photocs.net/build-profession ... deo-slider

Currently the slider is motorized, all I need to do is make some software tweaks and it should be ready to go, but I'd like to know what I can do with your rails and see if it offers the same ultra smooth motion I require.

Please contact me directly through mail info@photocs.net so that we can start discussions if you agree of course. Thank you

If you looked around the forums here a bit more you'd see it's been done with makeslide quite successfully already:

There are already open source electronics that does what you want. No since reinventing the wheel.
