Z Belt - Guys, I need your help please

Postby neuman5022 » Sat Aug 29, 2015 2:09 am

Hello Folks,

Tried to get my hand on the 64" belt for the Z axis drive, but so far I am unsuccessful. There is not an option to get it here, I contacted the main distributors and the answer was they cannot supply such belt.

I went to see "Econobelt" which is in the BOM, but it seems they are not doing business since their website name is for sale.

Also - I posted a request for this belt here, but so far no response.

If any of you can help me get this belt - or even point out where I can get one - I will be very happy.

Many thanks in advance,

Isaac

Try RobotDigg I believe they have a custom belt service.

I went for a 3 belt solution, got mine from ebay (seller: speed_mart) - one 1350-2GT belt and two 858-2GT belts did the trick.

I have no drawing but maybe this picture is of help. The yellow lines are the belts. My table is slightly longer than the standard design - so you must check if it is feasible to do the same as I have done. The belt on the back is outside the table and highest, the two shortest are close to the bottom of the frame. So, one pulley below the lower bracket for the shorter belts and one above for the longest belt.

Thanks Tergeio,

This is an interesting concept.

If I fail to get a long enough belt I will probably go for your solution.

Many thanks

Re: Z Belt - Guys, I need your help please - UPDATE

Postby neuman5022 » Mon Aug 31, 2015 2:27 am

Hello Guys,

RobbotDigg and AliExpress are selling GT2 belts with 762 teeth, (1524 mm long ) which is close enough for what I need. (800 teeth and 1600 mm)

Since the threaded rods for the Z axis assembly can be adjusted on the T-slot rails - I guess it will be slightly closer then planned but will do the job.

Many thanks again for your support.

I guess so - but I have got one already - slightly shorter - will see how it goes.

Will keep this in mind if needed.

Many thanks
