I happen to have some of that. I use it on my table saw miter. I like it because it gives a really wide and tall support for the work piece. It also accepts standard 1/4-20 nuts. It has a nice square edge that will accept a v-rail (see second blurry image). I bought it at a woodworking show. It did not cost too much as I recall.

I never thought of it it. It would definitely work. Nice find!

PS: My table saw is a 12" 3.5hp 220V 54" wide cabinet saw. It weighs about 600lbs. I got it off Craig's List a few years ago for $450 ...never used. It cuts through anything and the cut is smooth as glass (no swirlies).
