Quick Test Configuration Laser Power Supply

Postby wildseyed » Sun Apr 01, 2012 1:14 am

Can anyone suggest, or point me to the source of a good way to quickly wire up the power supply to test the laser? I need to make sure the tube is good before the return warranty expires, but I don't have any electronics yet.

I do have an Arduino, so I can use that in a pinch. Thanks.

The solution is to place a 10K resistor (Brown Black Orange) between the +5V and IN, Short the Pump Signal to GND, and place a switch between TTL Low (TL) and Ground.

You may want to set up a voltage divider to limit the power to 50% or less. It seems like most people's power supplies easily overdrive the tube at full power. It may not matter a whole lot for a quick test fire, but it's not much trouble to add a second resistor between IN and GND.
