2.x Laser Kits - Batch #6

Postby bdring » Sat Oct 27, 2012 10:38 pm

The kits are really close. I am only waiting on the rear interface plates. I had one left over from the last batch so I was able to put one complete kit together. Here is a picture of it. I hope to have them ready to release to the store in a few days.

All parts are bagged and tagged and the labels have QR codes that are direct links to the part drawings.

Bart, would you be interested in selling a set of just the metal parts? I have already printed all the plastic parts except the laser tube brackets. I will have to borrow time on an 8" printer to print those...

Thanks.

Probably not. That prevents me from selling a full kit and I am running low on those pieces. I might start a batch #7 right after this.

I might do an Inventables style pre-order. If I can get X number of pre-orders, I will order parts.

I guess I can justify one set to prove the concept of a printed version of the laser. The first person to post a complete set of functional printed parts to this topic can buy a set of metal parts.

I'll forgive the electronics gusset, because it is non essential for the operation, but the rest are needed. I'll hold the parts for the first complete set.

I figured out how to shorten the tube support bracket so it fits on a 4" printer bed. I've kept the printer chuttering away for the last 24 hours, and now I have a complete set of plastic parts. Here are the new pieces.

B17013 Rear Mirror Plate
B17043 Y Idler Wheel Bracket (x2)
C17010 Tube Support Bracket (x2)
B14001-001 Z Table Lift (x4, not x2 (-: )

I will write a little over in my own buildlog about how I modified the tube support brackets.

OK...good enough. PM me for details on getting the parts. Tell me if you need the rear plate or not.

BTW: I still don't have the rear plates yet. Everything else is fabricated, bagged and tagged.

Batch #6 Sold Out - 20 Units

Postby bdring » Wed Oct 31, 2012 11:01 pm

The kits are sold out. That is perfect timing. They were in the store for about 7 hours, so everyone should have had a reasonable chance at them.
