M5 x 12mm or M5 x 10mm?

Postby AJ Quick » Fri Nov 11, 2011 7:55 pm

I'm working to assemble the frame of the laser.

D30027 seems to indicate that a M5 x 12mm socket head cap screw is used for everything on the frame...

But the BOM shows that you don't buy enough M5 x 12mm screws to cover assembly, and it appears that M5 x 10mm is the way to go according to BOM.

Which one is it? Is it just a typo on the frame assembly drawing? I assume the M5 x 10mm bolts will work, as 2mm isn't going to be a big difference.. I just wanted to clarify about this potential error before I put the whole frame together.

That is a weird quirk with Pro/E family table parts where they trade names sometimes. All of the frame brackets mount with M5x10mm screws. The skins mount with 10mm also. 12mm screws are used to mount some of the thicker plastic parts.

I fixed the frame drawing.
