I decided to use maker slide for the bottom frame rail. With this I can skip ordering parts from misumi including the 40x80 profile and the bracket. Instead I ordered the 1800 mm long maker slide which will be enough for the entire Hadron build. To replace the bottom brackets I got some 3/4x3/4x1/8 aluminum angle profile ($2.5 for a 12" piece). I’ll cut it to 34 mm length and drill the holes just like the HBLSD5_6. I’ll trim one side back to 16.5 mm, so it’ll not interfere with the bottom maker slide rails

I came up with a simple design for the belt brackets based on what I saw on these forums. It’s made out of 3/8 thick (9.525 mm) plastic. I don’t have any cnc carving equipment so here is how I’m going to do it.
1. Print the design to scale on paper. Mark the holes on the cut off piece
2. Drill the 7 mm holes (2x)
3. drill the 2.5 mm holes (4x)
4. drill the 5 mm hole
5. cut the piece in half with a jigsaw
6. install.
7. enjoy.

The hole pattern will fit the hadron bracket (C14014_35). The big central screw is the same as the ones holding the v-groove rollers. There is a 2 mm nominal clerance between the stationery makerslide and the moving bracket. I might install some 4 mm pins inside the folded belt. Let me know if someone needs the math model.

More parts arrived over the weekend. I received the t-slot nuts from 80/20inc. (T-Slot HW 25 Series M5 X .8 Economy Slide In T-Nut Part #25-1951 N). I ordered two bags, 50 pieces. Well. They do not fit into the makerslide slot...

So I need to do some grinding... One is done. 49 more to go :) On the left: the one already ground. on the right: the original.

I’ve got the lead screws today from here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/9-3-8-12-ACME-L ... 0963135197?

They look nice. The first 4-5 threads go on easy, and then I need to apply a bit more torque to drive the screw in the nut. I guess it’ll wear in with time; at least there is no backlash  The Nema 17 motor has 0.43 Nm torque, so hopefully it’ll work.
I built a true geometry. Here is how it looks like on my tube:

I needed to tweak the delrin nut a bit, but there is nothing a good mill would not be able to accomplish:

It’ll be a drop in replacement for the original Hadron lead screw nut. Let me know if someone needs the 3D model.

Purchased the laser cut parts from the "group hadron buy guys" thanks to Chris. Did not get a note yet from mikegrundvig about shipping. I guess he is busy. In the meantime I saw some people have already received the parts. Hope mine will be here soon.

Hi,
I ordered some ACME threaded rods off eBay that looked the same and they had problems.
Did you check the threads closely before you threaded the nut on?
One of mine went easy and the other started to get tight very quickly so I looked with a magnifying glass and there were rough spots and even very tiny metal chips attached to the threads.
I have gotten 2- pair from the same company and both pair had one bad rod. They were easy to clean up with a jewelers file and fine sanding paper.

Hi Randolph. I looked the lead screws I've got and they do not have any burrs/imperfections on it. Thanks for the info though.

Finally received the laser cut parts. They look great! I'll paint them, I don't like bare aluminum finish.
