Hi,

I still seem to be struggling a bit with the gantry configuration. Mine uses 2 motors to move the
gantry so the config is essentially:

X (Step pin 2, Dir pin 3)
Y1 (Step pin 4, Dir pin 5)
Y2 (Step pin 6, Dir pin 7)

All other pins are available.

It looks like the 2xlaser config files are for XYZW gantry configurations.

Is there anything I need to know when trying to use the 2xLaser configs with the XYY configuration?

Thanks,
Steve

Z is fake and acts as a laser on/off so you can use almost any CAM program (with high Z feedrates and tiny cut depth) to make valid gcode without bandaids for switching the beam on/off.

W (or U when I did it originally) moves the table.

To get "YY" I think you want to look at gantrykins. I think the "right" way to do this involves dual home switches (so homing re-squares the gantry).

(btw I'm working on a 2.5 port right now. So far looking at other versions I think there is at least one small bug. I also fixed some issues with O145/M144 lately in my repo. After 2.5 works with parport I'm going to switch over to my 5i25 card)

Thanks Ben - I'll certainly look into that with a view to squaring the gantry.

Right now (after much hardware tweaking) I've got the jitter down to 18000 - not too bad.
