Steve,

Did you get your Futurelec order yet? I ordered on Dec 5 and still have not received it.

I ordered around Christmas time, I think, and my order has left HK now. Amongst the things I ordered is one of these flow sensors since the one I already have doesn't seem to work.

Edit: Looks like the order with the flow sensor hasn't shipped. Bummer!

No, I haven't received mine yet either. On 12-21 futurlec sent me the following email,

Dear Steve

Only 0.8 to 8.0 L/min Flow Sensor is unavailable from your order and is currently out of stock.

A new shipment will arrive at our warehouse in 2-3 weeks when we will be able to dispatch your order.

Should you have any further enquiry, please feel free to contact us.

Best Regards

then on 12-22 they sent the following one:

Dear Dear Steve

Would you like to replace 0.8 to 8.0 L/min Flow Sensor with 1.5 to 14.1 L/min Flow Sensor (FLOW14L1) ?

Should you have any further enquiry, please feel free to contact us.

Best Regards

I thanked them for letting me know and offering the other model but said I would wait, that the 1.5 to 14.1 l/m wouldn't work for my application. So hopefully they will ship all of our orders soon. If I hear anything else, I'll pass it along here.

I hit the same thing. I had them cancel my order as I had other things on it that I needed sooner.

The bigger one has a minimum flow of 1 litre per min when mounted vertically.

The specs on my laser tube say, 2 to 5 litre per min.

So I have one ordered. Am I on the wrong track here?

Why do you consider it unsuitable?

Thanks for any help,

Greg

With my current pump (1500l/h, hmax 0.6m), I get 0.8l/min. With the pump for my chinese laser (2100l/h, hmax 0.6m), I get 0.9l/min. So depending on your pump, you may not get even close to 2-5l/min. I have a 2400l/h, hmax 1.3m waiting for me at the post office which I hope will give me better flow.

Same with me, my current pump is too low flow to work properly with the other model of sensor. I do plan to upgrade the pump but in the meantime it will work with the 0.8 to 8.0 l/m sensor. And this sensor will also work after I upgrade.

I don't know what laser you're using, but the only time I've gotten my water temp (backed by a 5 gallon bucket) to get warm enough at the water outlet that I could feel it was after a solid hour and a half of full-power cutting. Even then it was just warm enough to differentiate from room temperature, not really warm. My pump is around 250GPH for a 40W laser.

I've got the same mail today. Last orders took several days from I got the tracking number until HK Post showed it as received. So now the waiting game begins... :)
