The lead screws where giving me headaches. Could never get them to align so there was no binding. So I am trying belt for the z.

Leadscrew Alignment

Were you trying to constrain the leadscrews at both the top and the bottom? That will cause binding because the wobble has no where to dissipate. I imagine you can't really leave the tops completely loose on leadscrews that long, but did you try something that had maybe 1-2mm of radial "give" in it?

I tried to keep it somewhat loose at the top but I wasn't sure how it would affect the accuracy. So I'm tying it this way and it seems to be working but once I have the extruder on there I may need to do a counter weight to make the z axis weightless taking strain off the motors.

Here is my extruder carriage. I plan to mount it straight to the carriage instead of fabricating a plate bracket.

I like your X carriage much better than the one I made for my printed ORD bot. When I have the time to design a new extruder body I will go to a flat vertical plate like you have.

Now that's clever.
A couple thing that may be useful for the MK7:
steps/mm: 100.323 (1/16th steps)
PID values: 17.9 (P). 0.8 (I), 133.72 (D)

Thanks I have updated my firmware. I can't get printing quite yet. I ran out of belt and ordered some more. Man I wish you could find this stuff locally.
