Attaching the belts
TIP : Use small lamps to hold the belts while you are setting then up, works like a charm and make it very easy to attach the holding screws

Removed my laser tube from packaging, no cracks !
Got it from happyloveshopping, got a little upset because they asked for US$ 25,00 EXTRA, to cover additional shipping costs (while they say worldwide shipping is free !). Not fair !

I decided to place my laser PS, on a shelf.
Note that I installed an extra 2020 extrusion om the left to support it.
I had it cut it from 1.5 mm stainless steel, I made the holes using my drill press.

... as the 1.5mm stainless steel was cheap I decided also to make a electronics sled out of it also.

The two pieces came cut to the size and the detail cuts where made with dremel cutting disks(lots of :-) ).
Final cost US$ 25. I think it worth it !
Note: Be aware of the sharp edges and corners, make sure you use a grinder to smooth it.

Re: Sergio´s LAZZOR first move

Postby soehler » Wed Oct 19, 2011 2:21 am

Hi All

I just want to share that today my laser moved its motors for the first time ! I am very happy. Thanks Bart !

I followed Bart's Mach 3 set up instructions but something weird was happening, the steppers only locked when I pressed Mach 3 emergency button.

Trying to fix the problem, I revised the configuration steps and noticed that if I unchecked Enable1, Active Low column on Motor Outputs tab, the behavior returned to normal and Mach's Emergency Button worked as expected.

Bart's instructions tell to check Active Low, is this a typo on the captured screen or a problem with my Laser ?
I am using Bart's 3 Axis Pololu board and Mach 3 latest trial version.

Thanks

Sergio

I will double check that setting. I will be running Mach3 on the "traveling laser" soon. There is a jumper that selects whether you want active high or low for the enable. Try moving that.

Hi

Today I am very happy, my Laser 2X is finally ready after two years gathering the parts from all over the world (and a lot from Bart !) .

The machine is working gorgeously, and I already cut my new control panel (first cut!) from 3 mm black acrylic. Amazing machine

Koolance 700w radiator (it seems that I need a extra one), fans and exaust exit (using 1/2hp exaustor)

Thanks to Bart for creating (and sharing) the machine and producing the difficult parts for us , NA_PS for the cable guides and everyone that helped with my questions.

It was an amazing ride, and I learned a lot with it

That looks great. I am sure it is a lot more difficult to build one in Brazil.
