Build Log Picture

Postby bdring » Sun Aug 08, 2010 2:49 am

Here is how to change the "official" image associated with your buildlog. Simply highlight the attachment or image tag and click the bl_image BBCODE button. This will change the image that shows on the buildlog.net home page. It will pick the most recent use of the tag, so if you want to change the image, just tag an image in a more recent post.

Note: It does not actually work yet. I just needed to add the button for my testing and wanted to explain what it does. If anyone else (regular posts) uses the tag it does nothing.

This is functional now. It should work with both images as attachments and externally linked images (like Flickr etc.). Do what works for you, but I prefer images as attachments. It insures long term availability of the image, I can thumbnail it, for galleries etc. and I don't have to worry about rights, licenses, etc.

I changed the way the "official image" for the build logs works. This is the image that shows up on the buildlog.net home page. Put the text "Official Image" in the comment for your image. It will use the most recent image with that comment so you can evolve the image over time. You must attach images for this to work. Links to external images like Flickr, will not work. I want an image I can always access.

If you do not have an image with that comment, it will use the most recent image on your build log.

I edited a few of the recent buildlogs to make this work. Please re-edit if I did not choose the image you want.

Official Image

The official image is created by using the desired image as an attachment with the file comment being "Official Image". In general, please add all images as attachments. You can place them inline wherever you like. The whole system works best with attachments.
