Have you ever wanted to securely attach two plates together at 90 degrees? I've found that nustrip can be a great solution. I've put up an article with a few details on using nutstrip on the Big Blue Saw blog:

Another option when you need threads in thin materials is to use Rivet Nuts. Read more about rivet nuts on our blog.
