Looks really good! Mine's wearing a black hat, I had a bunch of black dibond laying around, the white looks really clean.

How is the expanded metal holding up as a cutting surface? I assume it's steel?

The expanded metal works alright for a cutting surface, I picked it up at the home depot. The expanded metal that I have always seen looks like it has sort of "steps" if you view it from the side. This metal is right flat. But the laser marks 1/4 inch MDF on the back side if cutting completely through.

I have never seen the aluminum honeycomb material up close, I was worried about it not being able to support a heavy work piece.

I tried expanded metal, but found that the laser reflected from the flat areas of the metal and damaged acrylic over them. I found aluminum egg crate on ebay and have had better luck with that.

Your laser is beautiful!

It looks good in white. I can't wait until I'm where you are.
