I'm wondering if you can post the part numbers for the following:
Rails.
Carriage.
Belt.
Pulley.
etc.

I have a friend building a machine and I want him to use a layout similar to yours. I love those fat belts!

Excellent design!!! I am new to the forum and will be building a machine. I planned on running the belt across y axis in the same fashion , orientation as you have done but I was afraid the natural tendency of the belt would be to slide to the bottom of the pulley and perhaps jump off. Have you had any issues with this problem? How wide is the belt and how wide is the span between pulleys?

Thank You

Dan

I have taken a Belt opened from polybelt.com HTD 3M 15 2500mm
interval pulley 1116 mm
fixed point on the head and to pull on the Sx pulley
pulley HTD 3M 18 teeth on the motor, to the left pulley it smooths down

Very well built and documented , lot of ideas thanks for sharing - unfortunately my light object board came minus of a lot of IC's, not what I had expected ...more on my machine thread,

what are those screws you use for height adjustment - i am just using M12 thread rods for the height control - might just be enough

1. Wanted to know where you have purchased your Z axis long closed belt, here in India I am getting only open end belts, any websites reference would be welcome, or is it that you have joined an open ended belt??
2. I was also wondering if you have used a emi filter to the laser powersupply and if so of what rating,

Thanks in Advance!

regards
IRfan

Great Looking Machine :D

Our Trotec Laser engravers at work use the same system on the gantry using the belt to drive the laser head across the y axis also on a small linear bearing system, never had a problem with the belt jumping off or anything like that, the x axis sytem also runs belts the same way with the pulleys lying vertical.
