About your terminal block fear. What you need to do is pick up some ferrules. I used these throughout my lathe retrofit and they are well worth the money. If you look in the installation manuals they usually recommend using them.

A friend bought some from these guys. I still have a pretty good stash getting them surplus.

Thanks, I may order some of those. The other "fear" I have with those little terminal blocks is how tight to make them. With stranded wire, there is no feel of a hard stop and I always wonder if it is tight enough or am I over stressing the block. I'll put that link in "Sources for Stuff"

It dosnt take much force to get a secure connection. Snug is good. Go overly tight and you can pinch off wires. Using ferrules and end terminals prevent this and also serve to prevent stray wires from shorting to the next terminal.

I dont have one of the spendy crimping tools they sell. They do sell a cheaper one at about $50. I just use my crimper for molex and amp connectors and it seems to work fine.
