Sorry guys , getting back to the subject of hot swapping stepper motors briefly :?
I have bought a socket for my rotary adaptor motor and a change over switch
Do you think that switching off the driver voltage, flipping the changeover switch and then switching on the driver voltage again will be ok ?
As switching off the DSP will reset it and as far as I can tell from the manuals it does not have motor disable .

You can 'manually" do the disable. Using the feature that is on the Laser Interface board. Just place a switch near the socket to remind you.

Just switch pin 16 on the 'D' connector to ground. Put the jumper in the enable mode. switching to ground in that setup will disable the motors.
