2x Man hours

Hi everyone,

I was wondering how long it took you to build your 2x in man hours and how often did you work on it?

Still a trickle of people building lasers out there. Mostly people have moved on to 3D printers. Sad, really. I'd say on average I've seen people put in 80-200 hours on their builds. Depends on how much modification they get into. Some get pretty extreme with adding all kinds of additional electronics. If you have a complete pile of all needed parts (completely stock) and are competent mechanically and electrically, I'd say you could actually get it up and running in a matter of a few days, and spend a couple more fine tuning things.

Thanks for the response TLHarrel!
I already have all the parts and I've completed most of the frame aside from putting in all the maker slides.
Just needed some words of encourage meant on how long this may take.

Anyway thank you again for responding :)

As with any large project, break it down into sections you can manage. Do a bit every day. Building stuff like this is very rewarding. It can also be a huge pain when you run into a part you don't understand. At least you have the forum here to ask when you run into problems.
