I'm doing something dumb with my LO 2012 and 4-Axis

Postby Reversity » Fri Jul 06, 2012 10:22 pm

Hey all, getting back into this after months away and trying to finish upgrading my 2.x laser with a 2012 LO DSP. I've followed the schematic and read up in the forums, but just managed to release the magic smoke when trying to get my x-axis working.

Hooked up the 4-axis board - no problem. Dropped in the Pololu and calibrated it - no problem. Attached the motor to the board - no problem. Attached the DSP to the 4-axis - problem. Blue smoke.

I'm sure I'm overlooking something very simple and stupid, but with a bunch of hours staring at the wiring and the schematic behind me, I have no idea what it is.

Any guesses?

Did the smoke come from the driver board? Can you tell us which part? Do you have any pictures?

Yep, it was the ic on the driver board that smoked.
