New low cost DSP laser controller board

We just launched a new DSP card with low price enough for most DIY folks. For as low as $285, it function very well and it works the same way as the LO-X7 or the AWC608. In fact, it share the same algorithm as X7.

Of course there is some difference between the AWC68 or the X7. The main difference is that E5 comes with a small LCD readout (1602) instead of color dot matrix screen. We try to keep the cost low so we have to remove a few fancy things out from the board to keep our goal possible. And our goal is offer an affordable DSP controller board without sacrifice of performance.

Here is a list of basic specification:
The maximum work area: 600mm x 600mm.
Top speed: 1600mm/s
Axis: Three
Laser Output: One
I/O: Input(2),Output (2)
Ethernet support: No
Software: LaserCad (will be renamed to something else soon)
Support PPI: Yes
Jog control: Yes
Support Ramp engraving: Yes
Support 256 grey scale: May be (working on it)

Price: $285

Targeting for small machine; 600x400, 500x300, 400x300, and K40 (300x200)
If you need bigger working area, go for LO-X7

My machine has been in storage since I moved. I'm thinking of getting it out and maybe converting to DSP (so I can focus more on the cutting part of the hobby and less on the playing with the controller side).

I emailed about a manual for the E5, since I can't find it online. Can you post a link or PM me?

I searched the manual, but cannot find how low 1 PPI pulse takes ? Usually this is around 3ms, but how much is it on the DSP board ? And it is configurable ?

The lower number for PPI is: 50 and it is configurable

Are you chinese or so ? Because you certainly answer like a Chinese on ebay. I ask for the DURATION of a PPI pulse and you answer something else with PPI. Di don't need the setting how to set the amount of pulses per inch, I am searching for the techdata how long in milliseconds (or microseconds if you prefer) 1 pulse takes.

May be you are smarter than me or just a genius. Without knowing the speed of the lasering, how could you to tell the DURATION of each pulse. Well, I will do some research from the elementary math book see if I can come up an answer. Once I found a solution, I will let you know.

Wanted to let people know that Marco has clarified here: http://www.lightobject.info/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=3342 that E5 cannot be configured for the standard buildlog.net 2.x Z axis setup (400 step stepper, 20-48T gear reduction, 20TPI leadscrews). I set mine up at 10x so I could have microstepping and still get a valid "um/step" value, but I don't have full travel. I can power cycle and keep moving when I hit the soft limit.

I don't know if the other controllers work better in this case. The limit doesn't show up in software, only when saving and reading back from the firmware.
