I shall have a play around and try to figure out the voltages needed to trigger the relay

Thunder Laser confirmed the problem with the relay. This was their response.

we changed the small part in the controller.
by the way, the "TTL-" has the same function as the Blow air,
so the customers who got the small board from us should be able
to use the air control function if they connect to "TTL-"

I don't really understand what TTL- they are talking about.

Anyway, I have a whole bunch of Pololu socket compatible relay drivers coming soon, so anyone with a 4 axis board can drop one into the 4th socket and control up to two devices. It will also work with Mach3, EMC, GRBL, etc.

I have received a similar email from Thunder
They also offered to exchange my board if this method does not work
I have a logic probe so I will have a careful probe tomorrow , I also bought a few
LM311N volt comparators from ebay and will have a go at using them as well to knock up a bread board circuit

I have probed the TTL- and it only goes low when the laser fires so my fans and air assist would be going off between cuts for example  not what I want

You could easily stretch that with a simple 555 circuit (or heck, a microcontroller, since they're so cheap these days).

I had the same exact problem with a Leetro controller. The output for the air assist would turn on/off with the laser. I solved this by using a delay-off relay. I think I set it to about 5 seconds. So as long as the laser cuts within 5 seconds of the last cut the air will be on till its done +5 seconds after that.
