Yes, tried it both ways. It heats up just fine, but no LEDs.

Since you've build an ORD Bot, I take it you have a multimeter and know how to use it? Have you tried to trace the connections and see if you have a break somewhere?

I imagine that it is a series string of LEDs, in which cas the problem may be that one or more were installed reverse of the rest of the string.

Hi Enraged, please PM me so we can try to debug this, if the info below doesnt do it ...
All LAVA's were fully tested before they shipped, so we know the LED's work, they're not installed backwards.
Can you check the voltage at the terminals ? the LED's need at least 10.5 to 11V before they turn on.
There is also a small 2-pin 2mm header + shunt installed on the bottom side where the FFC cable connector would go, this is to enable the LED's when the FFC is not used. if the shunt is missing, that would explain the LED's not working.
