You are not giving us much to work with. How about using a pot?

Helpful information: How do you want to control the power? Is setting it in advance acceptable (like pot)? Do you need to set it via software. You are not using Mach3, what are you using?

Yes a pot would be fine, as I would only need to change it for engraveing.
This is the controller that I have http://www.amtechltd.co.uk/about_us.htm it uses GNC software to operate.

Hi Pete,

What laser do you have? Do you have a schematic for the power supply?

It looks like you could configure your card much like Mach3 to control the laser.

We need more info to be able to help you out.

No do not have the power supply yet, well yes did get it from coletech along with the tube but the power pack is not working and they are sending a replacement. That sounds good if I could adjust it with the card, not a lot of information from the people that make them don't think they get many home build laser cutters.
I have already had it running on a 60 watt laser, but the speed was not enough for what I need it for so that is why useing a 100 watt now.

The web site for your card says that the card can use G-code and has analog and digital outputs. That should work for controlling the laser.

The idea that the card isn't fast enough may not be quite correct...

How do you know your power supply is bad?

No it was the 60 watt tube that was not fast enough, there is nothing comeing out of the power pack. The fan works on the 5 volt side, but it is not switching at all.
