I remember thinking to myself when I was re-working the ord-bot for the h.ord design that it would have been nice if the spacers were threaded.

As I was building my Hadron ORD Bot, I briefly wondered about eccentric nuts instead of eccentric spacers, but didn't think about it for long. Glad to see they're a reality. The eccentric nuts are now on the web store.

The drawing shows the eccentric nut cylinder height is still shorter than the thickness of the plate it is attached to. Might be nice if they matched, or if it was just slightly smaller - just a thought.

I don't understand the statement. Draw a picture.

The part that fits in the plate is supposed to be thinner than the plate. I chose a value that is thinner than any reasonable plate. That part needs some decent height or it is more difficult to install or could tear or stretch the hole.

If you added a small chamfer or radius to the buttom edge of the flat faces/corners (during the same operation that cuts the registration diameter), they would help it not tear into the plate. On my shapeoko the paint it all torn away from adjusting the nuts. It doesn't effect the function, it's just esthetics.

Wrench on nut to hold it stationary.
Loosen screw one turn.
Rotate nut to adjust.
Tighten screw one turn to tension.

not always that easy, but that would definitely be a huge benefit of these nuts vs the old spacers. trying to turn an allen key, hold a nut, and maneuver a spacer were a bit annoying, hence the scrapped paint.

Would a 0.020" thick brass shim under the eccentric help with the paint issue, or would it cause grief with the parts loosening?
