3D engraving tests

I finally got a chance to try one of the images from Gantryco. It's not all that bad. Tomorrow I'm going to borrow the micro sandblaster and see if it looks better when I knock down the nubs. Something went wrong and made that line. I think my motor power supply started to fail because it is under rated for current output. I walked away a while later and came back to find the stages completely stopped and the laser was firing 100%. It burned a whole all the way through this 1/2 inch thick piece of Cherry.

Yes, 40W CO2 with version 1 Light Objects DSP.

How big is your workable area inside the laser ? 12X20 ?

I have a used ULS-25 that I rebuilt. The working area is officially 24" by 12", but of course you can never do anything that involves raster engraving close to the left and right edges of the working area since you need room for acceleration. So I guess effective area for raster is about 20" by 12" as you stated.
