Z Table Leveling? Any hints?

Postby bloq » Wed Jun 03, 2015 8:04 am

Hey all : )

my build is proceeding and i am so glad that there are people here, who are willing to help so much. I am going to install the z table very soon and i was wondering how you did the leveling for it. I tried to measure the distance from the bottom skin to the lift plates but due to the wobbling of the lift plates while the table frame is not attached i do not get the accuracy i would like to have. I am sure i can figure this out with lots of patience but i assume there are some better solutions around here ; )

thank you!

What I ended up doing was to cut a little acrylic piece (sort of a squared C shape) that fits between the bottom of the lift plate and the bottom rail. I then use that to get all four the same. What I ended up doing is to loosen the set screw on the pulley so I can turn the rod without messing up the others then tighten and up and move to the next. You're right, you need the bed in place to add some weight.
