Chank's Tank!

Postby Chankster » Fri Mar 25, 2011 12:47 am

Figured I should go ahead and start the build log now that I'm getting parts. I've been surprised how fast things have been shipping. Ordered Misumi on 3/14 received it on 3/16. Ordered the tube from love-happyshopping on 3/19 and received it 3/23. Parts from bdring should be here sometime in April.

Looks like love-happyshopping has upgraded shipping. Around 1 ft in diameter and 3.75 ft long.

Good ole love-happy-shopping :D

I am trying to get them interested in an affiliate link on my kits page. I would charge them a lot less than eBay. If you buy from them tell them buildlog.net sent you. Most people come here for support on getting it to work anyway. They have not responded on the subject.

Is it me or are theses tubes from love-happyshopping that are $178, with shipping, the same tubes that Full Spectrum Engineering sell for $300 not including shipping? They sure look the same. I realize that Full Spectrum Engineering is in the US but for $122+ I could wait a couple extra days. Also, love-happyshopping boast a 2 year warranty while Full Spectrum Engineering only has a 60 day warranty.

Comment From Buildlog Author Not sure if they're the same but with it only taking ~3 days for shipping it sure wins. Now if only I could find a use for all this bubble wrap...maybe I'll try and pop it all while picking out the electrical parts.

Its a log. Have to wonder what the delivery guy was thinking... :)

Mine from Cole was packed well and got here in the same amount of time.

Supposedly the guys at FSE take the tubes and check their rise times. I would think you would have to pair it with a specific power supply for this to really be significant. And I am curious how many fail their test. And how long will that high rise time actually last?

That is indeed an amazing price. I recall spending closer to $400 just a couple years ago. I can't believe they found a way to get the shipping down to $60. Can't wait for the bigger tubes to drop in price!

Imagine that company in China is really only making about $80 (?) profit per tube.
